Caleb Jacobs is a screen composer, music producer, songwriter and sound designer.

He has deep roots in the Sydney music scene, where he cut his teeth as a guitarist, leaning into distorted amps in search of new sounds. That spirit still drives him in the studio today.

From his earlier DIY recordings as Plum to the slicker, late-night electronica of Cale, Caleb has shared airwaves and stages with some of Australia’s most respected artists. His work has been championed by Rüfüs Du Sol and spotlighted by Rolling Stone, Triple J, MTV, and Rage. He’s also collaborated with beloved local artists including Babitha, Isabella Manfredi (The Preatures), Moody Beach, Dogworld, and Richard Cuthbert.

Caleb’s love of storytelling through music naturally led him into film and TV scoring. Since graduating from AFTRS in 2015, he’s been writing thematically resonant scores that blend acoustic instruments with modern production. His distinctive sound is grounded in electronic music, where synths and found sounds blend with traditional instruments explored in unexpected ways. Blurring the lines between the organic and the synthetic, his music creates immersive, emotionally rich soundscapes that feel both intimate and expansive.

His screen credits include The Longest Weekend (2022), Plan B (2021), For the Love of Pets (2022), The Summit (2023), Made in Bondi (2024) and Big Brother (2020). In 2023, he composed the audio brand mnemonic for Mitsubishi Electric’s ‘A Life More Electric’ campaign, alongside a full commercial score. Since then, he’s continued to deliver standout work for brands including Land Rover, Employment Hero, Rollin' Car Insurance, and Australian Ethical.

Caleb is an AACTA-accredited composer, a 2025 APRA Professional Development Awards finalist, and a proud member of the Australian Guild of Screen Composers (AGSC). He believes in music’s power to transcend language and connect people—and he thrives on helping bring the creative visions of fellow filmmakers and artists to life.
