Caleb Jacobs is a screen composer, music producer, songwriter and sound designer with deep roots in the Sydney music scene.

He cut his teeth as a guitarist, leaning into distorted amps in search of new sounds — an energy that still drives his work today.

From his DIY recordings as Plum to the slicker, late-night electronica of Cale, Caleb has shared airwaves and stages with some of Australia’s most respected artists. His work has earned praise from Rüfüs Du Sol and been featured by Rolling Stone, Triple J, MTV and Rage. He’s collaborated with Babitha, Isabella Manfredi (The Preatures), Moody Beach, Dogworld and Richard Cuthbert.

Since graduating from AFTRS in 2015, Caleb has built a career in film and TV scoring, crafting textured, emotionally rich scores that blend acoustic instruments with electronic production. His sound blurs the line between the organic and the synthetic, combining synths, found sounds and traditional instruments in unexpected, creative ways.

His screen credits include The Longest Weekend (2022), Plan B (2021), For the Love of Pets (2022), The Summit (2023) and the theme for Made in Bondi (2024). In 2023, he composed the sonic branding for Mitsubishi Electric’s A Life More Electric campaign, and has since worked with Land Rover, Lorna Jane, Employment Hero, Rollin' Car Insurance and Australian Ethical.

In late 2025, Caleb released Aunties, marking a new chapter in his musical journey. Built from a field recording in Penang and centred on nylon-string guitar, live strings, drums and electronic production, it explores human connection and community in a fast moving world.

Caleb is an AACTA-accredited composer, a 2025 APRA Professional Development Awards finalist, and a member of the Australian Guild of Screen Composers (AGSC). He thrives on helping bring the creative visions of filmmakers and artists to life.
